On my mind part 1

Week1

Work is so mundane I wish I was David Blaine, except my illusion of happiness would not go away
My hunger for success borders on starvation but plastic smiles and fake statements got me on the plantation
I’m enslaved day to day awaiting emancipation but for now its death row mundanely killing my brain cells
The brain dwells encased by experience and intuition
But In a world of broken systems I feel imprisoned by people seeing the light through twisting prisms and calling it divinity’s vis… Continue

Dreams of my father (pearl in theocean)

Searching for pearls in the ocean
I inhale my surroundings and locate potions then drown with a sense of devotion to break the overwhelming notion that being like my father is a curse
Pure potential without a nurse and so every aspect needs a doctor
So I search for that pearl through reefs, debris and clear waters
Still, I can’t find that shell in the dirt
Even though I’m moving in spurts like the rapid stampede of a wildebeest herd with congregations aware of its worth
Tales of future glory see… Continue

Maelstrom

I’m trying to stay strong in this maelstrom
Gripping the grains of sand where my faiths from
But my faiths gone hunting like an arrow in the wind
Stabbing through hot air but never seems to gets stuck in
Seems like I’m frozen out of the games I’ve had the heat to win
Hell gets colder as I ever search for end to the game
Players in the frame say don’t hate my fame
Don’t brand us blame because we got to the pinnacle by exploiting names and getting paid
So sometimes it feels like my name is a chain… Continue

It Takes More

It takes more than mammary glands
To strike up one man's band
With the tune of a siren leading many a hand
into a no man land
Where many men be damned
Seduced, Chopped and Screwed like crap to a fan
Quick to want the baby can't afford the cost of a pram
It takes more than material assets to make a man
For some of these big flash in a pan
Jack the land and big Stan
With much cash in their hand and acres of land
Are the 3 minute rendition, not the total exhibition
It takes more than your permissio… Continue

Me too! I think it'll be easier here to get to know each other better. I'm always thankful for those who acknowledge that, because we all grew at TVA, because of that interaction. It was a blessing. (still is)

I hear that growth. I'm really loving these spoken word tracks and the beats to them.

I'm listening now! Yeah TVA got quiet because I wasn't there as much. I needed a huge break. Imagine working for years without compensation or even much appreciation. I did it for the LOVE of poetry and desire to give others a place to commune, but it took a toll on me over time. Still till this day so many come from out that and they never acknowledge all I tried to do. It's still all good. It was a blessing and I hope this site gives us a chance to get to know eachother more intimately. The poetry forum will remain open and I'd like us to use it. I will be linking them together the best I can, soon.
