Death of Autotune! Hilarious!

Surely you're aware of Kanye West and his new cd "808s & Heartbreak". If you have heard any of the songs then you know that he uses Autotune to assist his lack of vocal skills. Of course Kanye claims that he uses it for the sound and not for helping him sound in TUNE. Autotune is not new to the scene. Kanye used it in his "Graduation" album, and T-pain uses it all the damn time. It has it's benefits, but please do me a favor and listen to what would happen to some classic Hip Hop songs if they used autotune as well! I have to warn you, this is complete torture! I couldn't imagine listening to this all day without losing my mind and tearing off my ears!

I agree, In small doses it's not so bad... lol, but after listening to the songs on that blog I died laughing at what would happen if it was used too often!

Okay the busta rhymes one wasnt so bad...but the ante up! that was torture! LOL This is funny. I like when T-pain uses it..it sorta became his thing like roger and zapp. But I havent heard all of Kanye's album. I liked love lockdown tho.

Yo, I haven't clicked on that link yet, but I can already tell you two things: 1.) I have every intention of doing so -and- 2.) the use of AUTOtune is so far out of hand it's stupid.

I feel sorry for the youth of today who may think, this is T-Pain's creation, lol. Bless their hearts. But no really, like Emani said, I like it when T-Pain uses it. Actually I'm not ashamed to say, that I'm a "closet" T-Pain fan (is that an oxymoron, lol). But once everyone else decided to give it a spin, I was like okay... THIS is getting out of hand. Wayne was the main culprit at first. Then random other folks did it. Now I'm a Kanye fan, because even though he's an ego-maniac, he doesn't get the credit he deserves as an emcee and lyricist. So when I first the rumor about 808's and Heartbreak, my face was screwed up for about a month strong. "You gonna use it for the whole album, are u serious." I gave it a chance, it isn't that bad. And actually the cd is one of those that u push play and it just rolls str8 through. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Hopefully, everyone else puts AUTOtune down though. Quickly. Let T-Pain do him and leave it at that. I mean this is a copycat industry but c'mon man. I'm glad to see Teddy, put some money into AUTOtune as well as buying one of if not the main "lane" used in it, so he's seeing money from these other artists. But please stop soon, lol.

I AM a PURIST this is bananas.. maybe imma dinosaur and still talkin about BDP but this today???? is not hip-hop nor music, nor creative. Well I guess it is true when they say... "nothing new under the sun". So I can look for auto-tunes when I am in my 70's to show up again! and Lik.. that is hillarious!!!
